The Hezekiah Alexander Homesite preserves Charlotte's oldest stone dwelling, built in 1774 by a leader of North Carolina's first Constitution. The 5,000-square-foot Rock House features two floors, a full attic, and basement, all framed by thick stone walls quarried on site. Surrounding trails lead through historic outbuildings, a kitchen garden, and a springhouse that kept food cool long before refrigeration.

This site offers a tangible connection to early American life, highlighting the stories of the Alexander family, their enslaved workers, and the role the home played during the Revolution.
